Who We Are
LAORA is one of the nation’s 58 federally designated organ recovery agencies certified and regulated by the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS). Life Alliance is a tax-exempt, nonprofit service organization that has the unique role of saving lives through organ donation and transplantation, as well as providing organs and tissues for research to advance medical science. LAORA serves a population of more than 6 million in the six counties of South Florida and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.
What We Do
Life Alliance Organ Recovery Agency (LAORA) provides life-saving organs while caring for the families of organ, eye and tissue donors by turning tragedies into miracles. LAORA mission is critically important because it sets the tone to best reflect an organization with a singular focus who is seeking continuous improvement to serve families and provide an environment attracting a mission-driven workforce. The leadership and workforce of LAORA cares deeply for the families we serve.
As a mission-driven organization, LAORA supports the communities in its DSA through educational and social events. Education is provided to the community through tables at community events and health-related retail locations. Social events include the Game of Life, and Run 4 Life. Recognition events include the Hospital Symposium, the Hospital Awards Luncheon, and the Volunteer/Ambassador Awards Luncheon. LAORA employees are encouraged to participate in events to donation awareness in their community.
